For the first time since 1996, huge computer giant IBM is more valuable than Microsoft! It moved into the number 2 position for the worlds most valuable tech company, sitting quite a far distance behind Apple.
IBM has demonstrated a consistent rise in market cap since 2008, while Microsoft’s have been going up and down like a roller-coaster. Microsoft’s market cap is down 8.8% this year, but according to Microsoft, their new Windows 8 OS for tablets may prove a nice rise in their share prices.
